Housing minister calls for boosting awareness about imp. of rationalizing water consumption

Housing Minister Assem el Gazzar has stressed the need to enhance citizens’ awareness about the importance of rationalizing water consumption.

Citizens should learn about the optimal use of this important resource, Gazzar said during a board meeting of the Egyptian Water and Wastewater Regulatory Agency (EWRA).

He also called for maximizing benefits from all available water resources, and the safe reuse of treated water in line with the highest international standards, a statement by the Housing Ministry said Tuesday.

This is done to maximize benefit from every drop of water, Gazzar noted.

Chairman of EWRA Dr Mohamed Hassan Moustafa, for his part, reviewed activities of his Agency, which includes controlling the quality of the drinking water in all Egyptian governorates.
