President El-Sisi Meets Eni’s CEO

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Monday 16/1/2023 with the Chief Executive Officer of Eni, Mr. Claudio Descalzi, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Tarek El Molla.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said Eni’s CEO reviewed the company’s current and future plans for the exploration and production of gas in Egypt, in light of its status as a regional hub for the circulation and production of energy and liquefied gas. Mr. Descalzi noted that this is a position that is becoming increasingly important in light of the current global developments related to the energy crisis as well as the promising opportunities offered in Egypt as well as its potential in this field.

President El-Sisi gave directives to expand exploration and production efforts and activities in coordination with Eni and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources so as to leverage Egypt’s natural resources and the gas and energy sector and continue the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the Italian company.
