Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi on Saturday 04/02/2023 congratulated Ahly’s board, President Mahmoud el Khatib, footballers and coaching staff for reaching the semifinals of the 2023 FIFA Culb World Cup, hosted by Morocco.
In a statement, the minister praised the Cairo giants’ distinguished performance that brought joy to the Egyptian fans, wishing them success in the next clash against Real Madrid.
An 88th-minute goal by Mohamed Magdy Afsha was enough to help Egypt’s Al Ahly defeat US Seattle Sounders 1-0.
Ahly have finished third in the previous two Club World Cups.
