Intensive preparations for “Wounded of Homeland” Sports Games

Damascus-With large will and high morale, participants in “Wounded of Homeland” Sports Games are looking forward to prove their superiority, so that this round will be the beginning of a new experience in their lives with the approach of launching the competitions on August 20th.

 

“We have chosen sports talents from the wounded of different provinces and conducted a training camp for them in Damascus, during which we focused on raising the skill level of the participants, under the supervision of specialized trainers, and with the end of the preparations, we witnessed a development in the level, which is a good indicator of new talents who are able to represent Syria at international forums after they are properly prepared.” Secretary of the tournament, Omar Ashour, told SANA.

 

Ashour added that those games were chosen within the tournament as a starting point because they do not require any complications, with a focus on selecting basketball as a team game that gives participants a social atmosphere of cooperation and harmony with the possibility of expansion and the introduction of new games in the coming period.

 

The wounded of Army, supporting forces and internal security forces who were injured during the battles in defense of the homeland will participate in the course, as they compete in swimming , table tennis, basketball, badminton, athletics games at the halls and stadiums of al-Assad Sports City in Lattakia.
