Abu dhabi: Milford Sound A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck 40 kilometres northeast of Milford Sound on New Zealand's South Island on Wednesday, the country's earthquake monitoring agency reported.

According to Emirates News Agency, the quake struck at a depth of 5 kilometres and was classified as moderate. GeoNet, the earthquake monitoring agency, noted that nearly 7,000 people had reported feeling the tremor.
