Amman: The Qatari Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced accreditation of Yarmouk University (YU) for self-funded study, out of 16 Arab universities in the majors of social sciences, arts, humanities, and administration. In a post on its official website, the ministry said this decision was linked to the universities' ranking performance, as per their study tracks, which would facilitate access to the "most suitable" destinations to pursue degrees. In a statement, the university's president, Dr. Islam Massad, said the YU's emergence on the new accreditation lists approved by the Qatari ministry reflects feasibility of its "strategic" plan to ensure "distinguished" performance. Massad added that this plan also seeks to achieve "sustainable" development and contribute to build a knowledge-based society, by deepening the values ??of quality and academic excellence.
