ABU DHABI: The UAE government, in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF), has launched the "We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence" platform aimed at supporting the UAE 2031 national vision with an innovative AI-driven strategic approach. According to Emirates News Agency, the platform was unveiled during the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils (AMGFC24), which took place from October 15-17. This initiative was attended by prominent figures including Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils, and Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Chairman of the board of trustees of the WEF. The platform integrates insights from approximately 450 global sources and 2,500 experts, designed to guide UAE policymakers, strategists, and government leaders in implementing the We the UAE 2031 national plan. This strategy aims to establish the UAE as a major global partner and a powerful economic hub. The announcement of the platform's launch follow s a previous declaration earlier this year. The strategic knowledge partnership between the UAE Government and WEF was formalized during the 2024 WEF Annual Meeting in Davos in January, with the agreement signed by Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, and Stephan Mergenthaler, Head of Strategic Intelligence and Member of the Executive Committee at the World Economic Forum. Huda Al Hashimi remarked on the platform's potential, stating, "The We the UAE for Strategic Intelligence 2031 platform will be a significant asset for the government, empowering decision-makers to execute national visions. By collating vast amounts of knowledge and expertise in a single digital space, the platform will support the development of effective government strategies and policies." Olivier Schwab, Managing Director of WEF, highlighted the role of technology in enhancing government operations: "By integrating strategic intelligence into the We the UAE 2031 vision, the UAE showcases how advan ced intelligence and future-oriented thinking can enhance government capabilities." Schwab also noted that the platform would bolster the UAE Government's ongoing development efforts and its global leadership in addressing global challenges. The platform addresses over 70 global policy topics of strategic significance to the UAE, drawing from a diverse array of reports, academic articles, and expert insights, including from WEF's partner network. It not only offers valuable data sets for policymaking but also serves as a forum for government leaders to share ideas and initiatives, promoting a collaborative approach to public sector strategy. The Global Future Councils bring together thought leaders from academia, government, international organizations, business, and civil society to form the world's leading network for fostering innovation in shaping a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future. The AMGFC24 convened 500 experts, thought leaders, and futurists from 80 countries across 30 councils to discuss future opportunities in areas such as technology and artificial intelligence, environment and climate, governance, economy and finance, and society.
