DUBAI: Dubai Design District (d3) and Isola Design Group are set to launch 'Design Next', an exhibition spotlighting the circular economy, as part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations of Dubai Design Week. The exhibition aims to offer insights into the future of sustainable design, marking the first collaboration between d3 and Isola Design Group. According to Emirates News Agency, 'Design Next' will be included in the Dubai Design Week programme, scheduled from November 5-10, 2024, with d3 as a strategic partner. This inaugural exhibition in the UAE will showcase concepts from independent designers, sustainable brands, and design tech start-ups, all centered around promoting environmentally positive lifestyle and consumption changes. The exhibition will feature sustainable design products, circular furniture, design technologies, and innovative materials. In addition to the exhibits, the event will serve as a lively platform for panel discussions and live performances, aimed at raising awareness about the circular economy. Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, emphasized the exhibition's role in elevating world-class design concepts to address the pressing issue of the circular economy. She expressed hope that the exhibition would inspire mindset shifts and behavior changes, contributing to global sustainability efforts and enhancing Dubai's role in the worldwide sustainability agenda. Gabriele Cavallaro, Co-founder and CEO of Isola Design Group, highlighted the collaboration's objective to inspire the design community and beyond, showcasing what is possible for creating a more conscious future. The exhibition will emphasize five themes: Circular Design and Innovative Craft, Material Hub, Future of Urban Living, Design Labs, and The Stage.
