Foreign Holdings of Renminbi Bonds Reach Historic High of Over $640 Billion

BEIJING: Foreign investors have increased their holdings of renminbi bonds to over $640 billion, marking a record high as yields show favorable performance since the beginning of the year. According to Emirates News Agency, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange conveyed this development through Xinhua News Agency, quoting Li Hongyan, Deputy Head of the Administration, during a press conference. Li emphasized that the increased foreign holdings help diversify participants in the domestic market, enhance market liquidity, and promote the international development of China's capital markets. Li further indicated that the administration is committed to improving investment facilitation, creating a favorable investment environment, and promoting high-level financial openness. This approach aims to support foreign investors' active participation in the Chinese capital market.
