AMMAN: In a meeting held on Wednesday, Jordanian Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa and her Palestinian counterpart, Samah Hamad, discussed collaborative efforts in social protection and preparations for the Palestinian Child Conference, set to take place in Jordan next month. This initiative follows a joint invitation from Palestine and the Arab League. According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Mustafa reiterated Jordan's unwavering support for the Palestinian people amid ongoing conflicts, particularly in the Gaza Strip. She emphasized Jordan's call for an end to violence and the facilitation of humanitarian aid into Gaza, aligning these efforts with the nation's diplomatic stance under the leadership of King Abdullah II. Bani Mustafa outlined the services provided by the Ministry of Social Development and the National Aid Fund. These services include health insurance, energy services, emergency aid, and programs designed to transition families from dependence to self-sufficiency. She highlighte d that these initiatives are part of Jordan's national social protection strategy. The minister also noted Jordan's ongoing efforts to enhance social protection services, stating that the National Social Protection Strategy is being reviewed to align with the country's modernization goals. This includes five key initiatives, ten priorities, and over 31 projects aimed at economic modernization. Minister Hamad expressed appreciation for Jordan's continuous support for the Palestinian cause and acknowledged the humanitarian aid provided by Jordan, including medical support for amputees in Gaza. She outlined social protection efforts in the West Bank and Gaza and announced a training workshop to learn from Jordan's initiatives. The meeting concluded with Bani Mustafa leading a tour of the National Aid Fund for the Palestinian delegation and World Food Program team, showcasing the fund's digital maps department and support services.
