AMMAN: The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, recently hosted a delegation of South Korean tour operators and media professionals. This initiative aims to strengthen tourism cooperation between Jordan and South Korea, as well as the United Arab Emirates. According to Jordan News Agency, the visit is part of a memorandum of understanding signed between the involved parties, focusing on enhancing tourist exchanges among the three regions. The delegation, comprising six South Korean travel agencies and three journalists, participated in a tour designed to showcase Jordan's cultural heritage and tourist sites. The itinerary included visits to key archaeological sites in Amman, Madaba, and Petra. Prior to their arrival in Jordan, the delegation also toured Abu Dhabi, gaining insight into the cultural and historical aspects of the broader region. During their visit, Jordanian and South Korean tour operators engaged in business discussions to devel op trade partnerships and create new tourist products. The meeting further aimed to exchange expertise on tourism marketing strategies and organizing tourist trips, with the goal of increasing tourist numbers to Jordan. This initiative is part of a long-term strategic plan to deepen Jordanian-South Korean tourism relations, ultimately boosting tourist flow to the Kingdom. In the previous year, approximately 14,500 South Korean tourists visited Jordan. The joint cooperation seeks to significantly increase this number through effective promotion campaigns and partnerships to support sustainable tourism growth.
