WASHINGTON: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken to discuss the strategic partnership between their nations and pressing regional issues. The meeting underscored the importance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's recent visit to the United States in reinforcing bilateral cooperation. According to Emirates News Agency, the two leaders highlighted the solid foundation of trust and mutual respect that characterizes the UAE-U.S. relationship. They noted their commitment to enhancing regional and global peace and stability through this partnership. The discussions also focused on regional challenges, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the situation in Lebanon, with a shared emphasis on striving for a ceasefire and civilian protection. The meeting was attended by key UAE officials including Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs.
