Noura Al Kaabi and Lebanese Officials Address Regional Stability and Humanitarian Support in Paris Meeting

PARIS: Noura Al Kaabi, the UAE Minister of State, engaged in a significant dialogue with Nasser Yassin, Lebanon's Coordinator of the Government Emergency Committee and caretaker Minister of Environment, in Paris during the International Conference in Support of Lebanon's People and Sovereignty. The conference, organized by the President of France, saw participation from 70 countries, the UN, the EU, and other international and regional organizations. According to Emirates News Agency, Al Kaabi reiterated the UAE's commitment to standing in solidarity with the Lebanese people amid ongoing challenges. She confirmed the UAE's intent to continue humanitarian initiatives directed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed at addressing Lebanon's pressing humanitarian needs. This includes the provision of urgent relief and support through various initiatives. Al Kaabi condemned the persistent Israeli violations of UN Security Council Resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701, and emphasized the escal ating Middle Eastern conflict's detrimental effects on humanitarian, political, and security conditions, posing threats to civilian safety. She urged for coordinated international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and ensure civilian protection under international law. Yassin acknowledged the UAE's pivotal role in supporting Lebanon, praising its consistent aid efforts during challenging times. He highlighted the UAE's contributions, including $100 million in urgent relief packages and $30 million in aid to Lebanese refugees in Syria. The support also encompassed substantial deliveries of relief, medical, food, and shelter supplies, as part of the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign, with a recent shipment of 2,000 tonnes of supplies arriving at Beirut Port. Al Kaabi's meeting with Yassin underscored the UAE's ongoing commitment to humanitarian assistance and regional stability, reflecting the deep appreciation from the Lebanese people for the UAE's leadership and support during the crisis.
