RABAT: Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah's Department of Government Relations, met with Dr. Salim AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO), to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in education, science, and culture. The discussions, held at ICESCO headquarters in Rabat, Morocco, focused on aligning shared initiatives with the visions of both parties. According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. AlMalik expressed gratitude for the continued support from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, acknowledging the emirate's significant contributions to cultural and scientific efforts. A key topic was the upcoming opening of ICESCO's regional office in Sharjah, envisioned as a central hub for knowledge and cultural exchange in the region. Sheikh Fahim conveyed greetings from the Ruler of Sharjah, emphasizing that his visit was part of a broader directive to strengthen ties with ICESCO and support initiatives that align with Sharjah's cultural and developmental goals. Dr. AlMalik elaborated on ICESCO's new strategic direction, aiming to position the organization as a global center for knowledge by actively involving member states in addressing their priorities. The initial dialogue was followed by an extended meeting with key officials, including Dr. Abdelilah Benarafa, Deputy Director-General of ICESCO, and Salem Omar Salem, Director of ICESCO's Regional office in Sharjah. The discussions explored potential future joint projects between the two entities. Sheikh Fahim concluded his visit with a tour of an exhibition and museum at ICESCO headquarters, dedicated to the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Islamic civilization, organized in collaboration with the Muslim World League and the Mohammadia League of Scholars.
