Abu dhabi: ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Emirates Falconers' Club, is enhancing the falcon auction experience in the twenty-second edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX). This expansion builds on the previous year's success, establishing the auction as one of the region's premier heritage events.
According to Emirates News Agency, this year's program includes eight live auctions and a secure online auction platform during ADIHEX. These auctions will feature a select group of elite falcons, known for their beauty and racing abilities, from some of the world's leading falcon farms. The expansion aims to meet the growing demand from local and international falconers, underscoring ADIHEX's role as a heritage platform blending authenticity with innovation in falconry.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this edition marks a significant expansion of the auctions, with over 1,000 falcons assessed and only top-tier birds making it to the prestigious ADIHEX auctions. The event is expected to attract top bidders globally, positioning it as a notable heritage event.
Four of the eight auctions will take place at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi before ADIHEX on 16 and 17 August, followed by the second round on 23 and 24 August. The remaining auctions will occur during ADIHEX 2025 on 30 and 31 August, with final auctions on 6 and 7 September at the ADNEC Centre Conference Hall A. Participants can bid on outstanding falcons in a competitive atmosphere.
Gates will open from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm for registration and viewing. Participation is seamless through the ADIHEX website, requiring an account and refundable security deposit. The auctions will begin at 7:30 pm each day.
A secure electronic platform will launch on 30 August, enabling online auctions for local and international bidders. Each falcon will be presented with comprehensive details to ensure transparency.
The ADIHEX organising committee will inspect and evaluate all participating falcons, verifying their health and assessing their attributes. Strict criteria classify falcons as Beauty or Racing Falcons, with assessments of weight, colour, and wing span measurements. This underscores the UAE's commitment to falcon breeding and environmental stewardship.
ADIHEX 2025 aims to support falcon farms in breeding, buying, and selling the best falcons, fostering innovation and sustainable practices while promoting networking among global experts. It serves as a platform for promoting the art of falconry and celebrating the cultural heritage it represents. The event reaffirms the UAE's commitment to advancing falcon breeding and conservation through advanced scientific methodologies supporting sustainability and heritage preservation.
