WETEX 2025 Highlights Emerging Sectors Fueling UAE’s Sustainable Economic Shift


Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organizing the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 30th September to 2nd October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.



According to Emirates News Agency, WETEX is witnessing an expansion in future-oriented sectors it is showcasing. It aligns with global trends by accelerating the energy transition and progress towards net zero. The exhibition serves as a platform for exploring opportunities from global shifts and identifying solutions to mitigate climate change effects, ensuring stakeholders remain at the forefront of sustainability.



This year, WETEX emphasizes artificial intelligence innovations that support green mobility, digital transformation, and clean energy adoption. With enhanced interactive platforms, WETEX promotes awareness and international cooperation in areas like green finance, smart cities, and health and safety, laying the foundation for sustainable development.



Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, stated that the exhibition consolidates the UAE’s position as a reliable partner in efforts to shape a more sustainable future. He emphasized that WETEX supports the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy and Dubai’s energy strategies, translating climate ambitions into reality by addressing global changes and the need for innovative solutions to reduce emissions.



Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, noted that WETEX brings together government and private entities with global experts to explore the future of energy and green development. He highlighted the exhibition’s role in supporting the UAE’s sustainability and climate neutrality goals through investment in innovative solutions and clean technologies.



Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, described WETEX as a pivotal platform that underscores the role of technology and innovation in sustainable development. He emphasized the UAE’s vision of aligning industrial growth with sustainability objectives and catalyzing investment in clean technologies.



Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, highlighted WETEX’s role in presenting technologies and planning methods that strengthen water and energy resilience. She emphasized the UAE’s dedication to environmental stewardship and climate action, highlighting national frameworks for sustainable growth.



Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, stated that WETEX demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to leading global dialogue on sustainability and innovation. He emphasized the exhibition’s role as a forum for addressing challenges and exploring transformative solutions towards net zero.
