Egypt Hosts 15th Round of UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses


Cairo: The Arab Republic of Egypt will host tomorrow the 15th round of the 32nd edition of the UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses at the Gezira Equestrian Club in Cairo. The event showcases the strong historical and brotherly relations between the UAE and Egypt and stands as one of the most prominent Arabian horse races in the country, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Arabian horse and the sport’s growth.



According to Emirates News Agency, the 15th round will feature seven races with 59 horses representing some of Egypt’s finest stables, demonstrating the remarkable engagement of Egyptian owners and breeders with the Cup annually. The main race, held over 1600 metres, will include top competitors such as Bareeq Al Amal, Monadel Saafan, Fahd Al Ameen, Deban Al Tahawia, Rawi, and Al Mashhoor, representing the elite of Egyptian Purebred Arabian horses.



The festival programme also includes six supporting races. The Mubadala Cup for Egyptian Purebred Arabian Fillies (1400m) will feature horses like Fahed Akhnaton and Hamas, while the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Cup for Egyptian Purebred Arabian Colts (1400m) will see competitors such as Al-Mougy and Haddaf Bandar. Other races include the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi Cup for Fillies (1300m), Al Masaood Cup for Colts (1400m), Al Dhafra Cup for Fillies (1300m), and the Abu Dhabi Cup for Colts (1400m).



Musallam Al Amri, a member of the Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President’s Cup Series, emphasised the historical significance of hosting the event in Egypt, highlighting the strong ties between the UAE and Egypt in celebrating the legacy of the Arabian horse. He reiterated the committee’s dedication to supporting Egyptian owners and breeders and promoting the global prominence of the Purebred Arabian horse.
