Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today met with His Excellency Ant³nio Costa, President of the European Council, who is currently visiting the UAE as part of a regional tour. The discussions centered around the latest developments in the region and their potential impacts on regional and international peace and security, with particular emphasis on maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the two leaders expressed deep concern over the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region. These attacks are considered violations of international law and norms, posing threats to regional security and stability. His Excellency Costa reaffirmed the European Council's solidarity with the UAE and other affected countries, supporting the measures they are taking to ensure their security and stability.
The meeting also covered various aspects of cooperation between the UAE, the European Union, and its member states. Both parties affirmed their commitment to supporting negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and the Strategic Partnership Agreement. They highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation to support mutual interests.
