Brussels: The European Union has reaffirmed its commitment to the security and stability of the Gulf region, as well as regional peace and security.

According to Emirates News Agency, Luigi Di Maio, the EU Special Representative for the Gulf region, emphasized this commitment following a meeting with the heads of missions of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States in Brussels. Di Maio highlighted the EU’s dedication to establishing a strategic partnership with Gulf countries, reiterating the Union’s adherence to their security and the broader regional safety.

In a statement, Di Maio noted that intensive discussions were held with Gulf diplomats regarding regional developments over the recent period. The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between the EU and GCC states in addressing shared challenges and ensuring mutual security interests.
