SAIF Zone Expands ‘U2’ Logistics District with 56 New Warehouses

Sharjah: The Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF Zone) has announced a significant expansion within its 'U2' logistics and warehousing district, introducing 56 new warehouses that cover nearly 340,000 square feet.

According to Emirates News Agency, this expansion increases the total number of warehouses in the Free Zone to approximately 2,500. It is part of SAIF Zone's strategic initiative to enhance its infrastructure and provide advanced logistics and storage solutions for businesses in industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and logistics sectors. The newly developed warehouses adhere to international engineering and operational standards, offering modern technical specifications and integrated facilities to meet the evolving needs of diverse sectors.

The warehouses feature contemporary office spaces, dedicated loading bays, and enhanced power capacities to support various operational requirements. They also boast innovative architectural designs aligned with leading sustainability standards. Each unit offers up to 6,500 square feet, providing optimal storage solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, emphasized the Authority's commitment to developing flexible and sustainable infrastructure to support future business needs. He highlighted that the 'U2' district expansion is a strategic addition to SAIF Zone's integrated services, reinforcing its capability to attract high-value investments and strengthening Sharjah's position as a global business and investment hub.

Al Mazrouei added that the expansion aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote economic diversification and bolster the emirate's status as a global business destination. He noted that the expansion responds to the increasing demand for efficient storage and logistics solutions from companies in manufacturing, trade, and supply chain services.

He concluded by stating that SAIF Zone is continually enhancing its infrastructure to provide flexible solutions that support a wide range of commercial and industrial activities, enabling investors to expand their operations and strengthen their competitiveness in regional and global markets.
