Abu dhabi: The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has announced the recall of two insecticide products marketed under the brand name "Goodbye All Insects." This action is part of efforts to protect consumer health and ensure that market products adhere to regulatory standards.
According to Emirates News Agency, the recall affects "Goodbye All Insects Max Kills in One Spray" and "Goodbye All Insects Spray," both manufactured by SCITRA. The products faced recall due to regulatory and technical violations, as they were marketed without registration with EDE. Additionally, discrepancies were found in the concentration levels of active ingredients, which did not meet approved specifications and international standards.
EDE identified a serious violation involving a prohibited substance in one of the products, leading to its immediate market withdrawal to reduce potential consumer risks. The establishment is collaborating with UAE regulatory authorities to remove these products from retail and online platforms following approved procedures.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to cease usage immediately and avoid buying, selling, or distributing them. EDE advises the public to adhere to guidelines from relevant authorities to safeguard public health.
This recall is part of broader efforts by UAE authorities to enhance oversight of pesticides and other products impacting public health and the environment. The measures aim to protect consumers, safeguard the environment, and maintain market confidence.
The Emirates Drug Establishment emphasizes its commitment to transparency and proactive risk management. EDE continues to work with regulatory partners across the UAE to ensure swift responses to safety concerns and uphold product quality and safety in the market.
