ALC Extends Application Deadline for Kanz Al Jeel Award Until July 2026

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), operating under the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has announced an extension for the submission period for the fifth edition of the Kanz Al Jeel Award. The new deadline is set for July 31, 2026.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Kanz Al Jeel Award, first launched in 2021, has played a pivotal role in fostering creativity among various generations and enhancing the cultural landscape. The award aims to honor outstanding contributions in folk literature and Nabati poetry. Candidates interested in participating must select the appropriate category for their work and complete the nomination form available on the ALC website. For any inquiries, applicants can reach out via email at [email protected].

For this edition, submissions must include digital copies in PDF format of the nominated works. Additionally, applicants are required to provide a curriculum vitae detailing their academic and creative accomplishments, along with a passport copy and a personal photograph. The award is inspired by the vision and poetry of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's Founding Father, and seeks to celebrate works that significantly contribute to the local and Arab poetic movement. Submissions should offer a meaningful contribution to human culture and knowledge, demonstrating originality, creativity, and innovation. While most submissions must be in Arabic, the Translation and Studies and Research categories will accept entries in other languages.

Participants are reminded that only one work per category is allowed per cycle, and the same work should not be submitted for any other award within the same year.
