Washington: Anthropic announced on Friday that it will "abruptly disable" its most advanced AI models for all users following an order from the US government. The directive requires the suspension of access to these models for foreign nationals due to national security concerns.

According to Emirates News Agency, the company received an export control directive instructing it to suspend access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models for all foreign nationals. Anthropic confirmed this decision in a statement, emphasizing compliance with the government's order.

Earlier this week, Anthropic had introduced an AI model named Claude Fable 5, marking a new tier of capability under the "Mythos-class" category. This development was seen as a significant advancement in AI technology before the government's intervention.
