Illumin8 Expands Manufacturing Operations at Sharjah Airport International Free Zone

Sharjah: Illumin8, a manufacturer of blinds, curtains, and window furniture, has announced an expansion of its facilities and manufacturing operations at the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone). This expansion is part of the company's strategy to increase production capacity and strengthen its presence in regional and global markets.

According to Emirates News Agency, the expansion is part of Illumin8's long-term strategy to enhance its manufacturing capabilities through ongoing development at SAIF Zone. The company operates three manufacturing facilities covering a combined area of 71,000 square feet and five specialised production lines. The facilities currently have an annual production capacity of 190,000 units, with plans to double the output by 2028 to meet the increasing global demand for premium made-to-measure window covering solutions.

The announcement was made during an inspection tour by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, to Illumin8's facilities. The visit was attended by Shakil Heangora, Chief Executive Officer of Illumin8, along with senior officials from both entities. Al Mazrouei reiterated SAIF Zone's commitment to offering world-class infrastructure and business facilitation that make it a preferred destination for industrial investment, backed by an integrated ecosystem of modern services and a strategic location with seamless connectivity to airports, seaports, and major transport networks.

Al Mazrouei also highlighted that the ongoing expansion of companies within SAIF Zone signifies growing investor confidence in Sharjah's competitive investment advantages. He stressed the zone's ability to support the growth of industrial sectors and strengthen companies' competitiveness in regional and global markets. He further emphasised the Authority's commitment to enhancing its business environment and investor services to meet evolving business needs, attract high-value investments, support economic diversification, and reinforce the industrial sector's role in the national economy.

Shakil Heangora, CEO of Illumin8, stated that the company's expansion within the SAIF Zone is a strategic move to bolster its manufacturing presence and support future growth plans. This will be achieved by enhancing operational efficiency, advancing manufacturing processes, and leveraging innovation and modern technologies. Heangora added that the decision to expand operations within SAIF Zone was influenced by the free zone's competitive business environment, advanced infrastructure, and strategic location, which provide efficient access to regional and global markets. Illumin8 boasts over 40 years of expertise in the blinds, curtains, and window furniture industry.

Currently, Illumin8 exports its premium made-to-measure window covering solutions to the United Kingdom, the European Union, GCC countries, and the United States, with plans to enter additional markets, including India. The company primarily caters to the residential sector while also serving various commercial segments, including hospitals, schools, and the hospitality industry.

Illumin8 is investing in its long-term growth strategy through additional investments in new facilities planned for 2027 and 2028, aligned with its projected sales growth. These investments are expected to further bolster the company's capacity to meet rising demand across global markets.
