US Stock Indices Experience Decline as Investors Evaluate Retail Sales Data

Busan: US stock indices closed lower on Friday as the S and P 500 retreated from its record high, pressured by shares of chip-equipment maker Applied Materials, as investors assessed retail sales data that came in weaker than expected.

According to Emirates News Agency, the S and P 500 fell 13.41 points, or 0.17%, to 7,785.58, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 73.86 points, or 0.28%, to 26,729.16. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also declined 108.53 points, or 0.20%, to 53,732.53.
