Abu dhabi: The Amur Gas Chemical Complex, located in Russia's far east, announced on Thursday that the death toll from a recent fire at the facility has increased to 15 individuals.
According to Emirates News Agency, the complex revealed through a statement on a Telegram channel that among the deceased, 14 were foreigners, though further details regarding their nationalities have not been disclosed. Additionally, it was reported that 39 workers remain hospitalized, with nine of them having been airlifted to Moscow for further medical treatment.
Russia's Investigative Committee has initiated an investigation into the incident, considering it a potential breach of industrial safety regulations. The committee is actively working to determine the cause of the fire, aiming to prevent such tragedies in the future.
