Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates announced that its air force engaged an Iranian drone on Monday after the United States conducted strikes on Iran, leading to retaliatory actions from Tehran. The UAE's Ministry of Defense reported the incident, stating that the UAV was detected over the country's territorial waters, approaching from Iran.
According to Deutsche Welle, the UAE's Defense Ministry released a statement on X confirming the engagement with the drone but did not provide further information regarding the drone's intended target or if it was neutralized. This development comes amid heightened tensions following US military actions against Iran.
Earlier on Monday, Iranian state television claimed that US forces and helicopters were targeted with drones at the UAE's Al Minhad Air Base. However, the UAE Defense Ministry refuted these claims, labeling the reports as false.
