Abu dhabi: The Al Ain Branch of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, organized the Al Ain-Indonesia Trade and Tourism Forum. This event gathered government officials, private sector representatives, and entrepreneurs from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain with their Indonesian counterparts to foster economic cooperation.
According to Emirates News Agency, the forum served as a platform for the business communities of both regions to exchange expertise and explore sustainable trade and investment partnerships in high-growth sectors such as agriculture, food, logistics, tourism, and hospitality. Participants discussed market trends and opportunities to enhance economic exchange and cooperation within the private sector.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Abu Dhabi Chamber and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of West Java. This agreement aims to strengthen coordination in trade, investment, talent development, and human capital, facilitating knowledge exchange and promoting commercial opportunities between the two regions.
The program featured presentations and panel discussions focusing on the economic environment and investment opportunities available in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Indonesia. Mohammed Mattar Al Shamsi, Projects Manager at the Al Ain Office of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), provided insights into Abu Dhabi's investment ecosystem and support for business expansion.
Participants were also informed about the upcoming Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, scheduled for October, which offers UAE companies the chance to explore Indonesian products, services, and businesses, fostering new commercial partnerships.
The forum also announced a commercial agreement between KN Coffee Nusantara and Limited Coffee Roaster in Al Ain. Under this agreement, KN Coffee Nusantara will supply premium Indonesian coffee products to Limited Coffee Roaster, expanding Indonesian coffee exports to the UAE and strengthening their commercial relationship.
Ali Mohammad Al Marzooqi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the Chamber's commitment to building bridges between business communities, aligning with their vision of empowering the private sector within a global economic ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of the MoU with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of West Java in supporting private sector cooperation and opening new channels for joint action.
Judha Nugraha, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, noted the vast opportunities Indonesia offers for international businesses across multiple sectors. He expressed satisfaction with the interest shown by the Al Ain business community and highlighted the significance of the forum in advancing economic ties between the two countries, which celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations this year.
The ambassador invited UAE companies to participate in Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 to explore further opportunities with their Indonesian counterparts, aiming for sustainable economic partnerships.
