Abu Dhabi:Meta is enhancing its efforts in the realm of consumer-focused AI agents and AI-powered wearable technology. CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the current era as an exciting time for development during the company's annual Connect conference.
According to Emirates News Agency, Zuckerberg discussed the divided opinions on the future of the industry, emphasizing that the ultimate aim should be fostering creativity and innovation rather than merely automation. He countered proposals from competitors to decelerate the advancement of AI, advocating for broader availability of the technology with suitable safeguards instead of restricting it to a few entities.
Meta is advancing its work on AI-powered wearable devices, which Zuckerberg envisions could eventually replace smartphones as the main method for technology interaction. During the conference, Meta introduced updates to its smart glasses and virtual reality devices, featuring user control through voice, eye movements, and hand and finger gestures.
