Abu Dhabi:Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE Minister of State, addressed the High-Level General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing the need for transformation of challenges into opportunities for peace, development, and prosperity.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Marar highlighted the UAE's commitment to diplomacy, de-escalation, and peaceful dispute resolution, while rejecting unlawful force and coercion. He addressed regional issues, reiterating the UAE's stance on Iran's occupation of three Emirati islands and advocating for peaceful settlement through negotiations or international legal mechanisms.

Al Marar also emphasized the importance of securing navigation freedoms to maintain global supply chains and food security. He expressed support for peace efforts in Yemen, Libya, and other conflict zones, and backed Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara.

On the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Al Marar stressed the UAE's support for a two-state solution and humanitarian aid to Gaza, condemning Israel's settlement activities and violations. He underscored the UAE's role in mediating prisoner exchanges between Ukraine and Russia, promoting lasting peace.

Al Marar called for international cooperation on Sudan's crisis, urging a civilian-led political process. He reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to moderation, tolerance, and investing in human capital, aiming to transform regional challenges into opportunities for growth and cooperation.
