Dubai:Ru'ya, Careers UAE 2026, was inaugurated today at the Dubai World Trade Centre by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This event offers a platform for career exploration, recruitment, and futuristic experiences connecting Emirati talent with opportunities within the UAE's evolving economy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event, running from 28-30 September, operates under the theme 'Ready for What's Next? The Future of Work.' It features more than 150 employers across over 23 sectors, including universities, government entities, and industry partners. Attendees, including students, graduates, and professionals, have the chance to meet potential employers, explore career paths and higher education options, and gain insights into the sought-after skills within the UAE workplace.
Ru'ya 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of this initiative, highlighting the growth in ambitions and available opportunities for young Emiratis. Careers now span traditional industries and emerging fields driven by technology and innovation. Asma Al Sharif of Dubai World Trade Centre emphasized the importance of equipping young Emiratis with necessary skills and knowledge to navigate a competitive job market.
During the opening day, Dr. Al Awar toured the exhibition, engaging with representatives from various organizations to explore recruitment opportunities and career initiatives for Emirati visitors. Ru'ya 2026 is structured to assist visitors at different career stages, whether they are seeking their first job, considering a career change, or exploring available opportunities.
The event features the Get Hired platform, enabling direct engagement with recruiters, while Career Guidance offers support to help attendees assess their strengths and make informed career decisions. The Academic Hub facilitates connections with universities, helping students understand how their academic choices align with future careers.
Ru'ya is supported by key partners such as the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the Emirati Human Resources Development Council, aiming to strengthen career pathways for UAE nationals. Abdulaziz Al Falahi of the Emirati Human Resources Development Council reiterated the event's role in connecting Emirati talent with employers and supporting their development in the labor market.
Beyond recruitment, Ru'ya offers young Emiratis the chance to test and develop skills through practical experiences and competitions in areas like innovation and entrepreneurship. The Ru'ya Podcast Studio also hosts discussions on emerging career opportunities and workplace expectations in collaboration with Dubai Media Incorporated.
Bushra Alshehhi of ADIB highlighted their commitment to empowering Emirati talent, reflecting a 53% Emiratisation rate across the workforce. ADIB and other participants like Emirates NBD and Dubai Police offer diverse career opportunities, underscoring a commitment to developing a competitive and sustainable economy.
Ru'ya, Careers UAE 2026, runs from 28-30 September 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, from 10 am to 6 pm daily.
