Washington:The US economy experienced a 2.2 percent annualized growth rate in the second quarter of 2026, as reported by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) in their third estimate.
According to Emirates News Agency, this latest estimate marks a 0.7 percentage point increase from the previous estimate. The upward revision is largely attributed to updated data concerning investment, consumer spending, and government expenditures. Contributions to the rise in real GDP came from consumer spending, investment, and exports.
The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index saw a 5.0 percent increase in the second quarter, with the PCE price index excluding food and energy rising by 3.3 percent.
