UAE’s Economic Resilience and AI Growth Highlighted by BlackRock Economist

Dubai:Ehsan Khoman, an economist at the BlackRock Investment Institute, emphasized the sustained appeal of the UAE to global investors due to its resilient economic fundamentals.

According to Emirates News Agency, Khoman highlighted at the Middle East Investor Relations Association's annual conference in Dubai that emerging sectors, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), are set to play a pivotal role in the UAE's economic landscape over the next three to five years.

Khoman noted that while the UAE's economy continues to be bolstered by key sectors such as trade, travel, tourism, and transport, which have shown significant resilience, there is an anticipated shift towards projects that enhance economic resilience and offer alternatives to traditional routes, including initiatives related to ports and pipelines.

He further pointed out the tangible impact of the AI boom in the UAE, with numerous projects already underway and more expected, as part of the country's strategic push to accelerate its technological transformation.

The next phase of AI growth in the UAE is expected to focus on developing the necessary infrastructure, including chips, semiconductors, and core components for data centers, Khoman explained. He emphasized that the UAE's abundant energy resources and capital, along with a substantial pipeline of AI projects, position it well for future opportunities in the AI ecosystem.
