Abu Dhabi:Eleonora Gasparrini of UAE Team L'IMAD secured her first victory of the season by winning the Tre Valli Varesine Women's Race in Italy.

According to Emirates News Agency, Gasparrini outpaced Canada's Sarah van Dam of Team Visma | Lease a Bike at the finish line, with Switzerland's Noemi Regg finishing in third place.

This win marked the second consecutive victory for UAE Team L'IMAD at this race, following Elisa Longo Borghini's triumph last year.

Gasparrini expressed her delight, highlighting the teamwork involved. "I'm really happy. I think we played it very well as a team. Karlijn Swinkels did a great job getting into the breakaway," she said.

She further explained how the race unfolded, stating, "In the finale, we kept the pace very high and I tried to hang on. When we caught the breakaway, my teammates gave me a perfect lead-out and I just had to finish it off. I'm really happy."
