UAE Condemns Attack on World Food Programme Convoy in Sudan

Abu Dhabi:The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned an aerial attack on two trucks contracted by the World Food Programme (WFP) in Sudan's South Kordofan State. The attack, which occurred while the trucks were transporting food supplies between Dilling and Kadugli, resulted in the death of one driver.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity of protecting humanitarian and relief personnel. The Ministry stressed that humanitarian assistance should not be politicized or used as a weapon.

The UAE reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire and a humanitarian truce without preconditions. The country also urged for urgent and unimpeded humanitarian access and advocated for a credible transition process led by an inclusive civilian government independent of any warring parties or extremist groups.

The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its support for peace efforts, highlighting the importance of joint action to reduce human suffering and meet the Sudanese people's aspirations for security and stability.
