UAE Strengthens Industrial Ties at GCC Meetings

Abu Dhabi:Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, led the country's delegation at the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and Ministerial Committee for Standardisation meetings held in Bahrain.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE's involvement emphasized reinforcing industrial integration among GCC nations, enhancing supply chain resilience, and promoting the adoption of advanced technologies and AI in industries. The meetings, which run from October 6 to 8, aim to boost GCC coordination in industrial standards and metrology, thereby increasing the Gulf's industrial competitiveness.

The event coincides with the 'Made in the GCC 2026' Forum and Exhibition, showcasing national industrial capabilities. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, visited the UAE's pavilion, reflecting the country's industrial growth and technological advancement.

These gatherings are part of a series of Gulf industrial exhibitions and serve as platforms for strategic dialogue and industrial showcases. They aim to foster Gulf industrial integration and facilitate partnerships among manufacturers, investors, and technology providers. Emirati companies are presenting a variety of industrial and technological products, highlighting the UAE's industrial diversity and opening up new partnership opportunities in Gulf markets.

Advanced technology, particularly AI and automation, plays a central role in the UAE's participation. The country aims to boost industrial productivity, efficiency, and supply-chain resilience. With industrial exports reaching AED 260 billion in 2025, and AED 473 billion rechanneled into the national economy through the National In-Country Value Programme, the UAE is enhancing local industry growth and integration into GCC value chains.
