Abu Dhabi:In 2025, the European Union exported goods worth £48.8 billion to Canada, while imports from Canada amounted to £33.0 billion. This trade activity resulted in a trade surplus of £15.8 billion for the EU.
According to Emirates News Agency, Compared to the previous year, exports increased by 1.2% from £48.2 billion, while imports saw a significant rise of 18.0% from £28.0 billion. The statistics were provided by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
The EU's largest export category to Canada was machinery and mechanical appliances, totaling £9.4 billion and accounting for 19.3% of total exports. Pharmaceutical products followed with £5.5 billion (11.2%), alongside vehicles, cars, motorcycles, and parts at £5.4 billion (11.1%). Other notable exports included electrical machinery and equipment at £3.3 billion (6.7%) and optical, photographic, and medical instruments at £2.0 billion (4.1%).
Regarding imports, the EU's largest product groups from Canada were ores, slag, and ash, valued at £4.0 billion, representing 12.2% of all imports, and machinery and mechanical appliances at £3.8 billion (11.4%). Other key imports included mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products at £3.1 billion (9.4%), aircraft, spacecraft, and parts at £2.9 billion (8.9%), and pharmaceutical products at £1.9 billion (5.9%).
