Sharjah:Sharjah Media City (Shams) has formed a strategic alliance with Origo Studios, a prominent European film and television studio complex, to launch a knowledge-transfer and training programme for its "Shams Production Centre" team. The centre is currently being developed in Sharjah.

According to Emirates News Agency, the partnership seeks to identify and nurture local talent by imparting practical knowledge and sharing international best practices in studio management and operations. This initiative aims to establish a production ecosystem in Sharjah that can compete both regionally and internationally.

Rashid Al Obad, Director General of Shams, highlighted the importance of the partnership, emphasizing that it goes beyond infrastructure provision. It offers a unique opportunity to acquire expertise within an international studio setting, thereby enhancing Sharjah's capabilities in creating a sustainable and competitive production environment.

The training programme covers various areas such as studio operations, technical management, post-production, business and sales, finance and incentives, and location management. It also includes aspects of technical infrastructure, governance, and sustainable production practices.

Dr. Márta Fekszi Horváth, CEO of Origo Studios, noted that the collaboration would facilitate the transfer of specialized knowledge to the Shams team, aiding in the establishment of a production centre capable of supporting local, regional, and international projects. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027, aligning with Shams' goal of fostering a sustainable production sector and creating new opportunities for local talent and businesses.
