Dubai Health Authority Introduces Initiatives for Enhanced Accessibility at 2026 Expo

Dubai:The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is set to showcase three significant initiatives at the eighth AccessAbilities Expo 2026 in Dubai. These initiatives are designed to improve healthcare services and accessibility for People of Determination.

According to Emirates News Agency, the initiatives include the Health Standards for People of Determination, the Sanadhum initiative, and the Unified Medical Report. These efforts focus on improving healthcare quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating access to essential services.

The Health Standards for People of Determination provide a regulatory framework for DHA-licensed health facilities, with goals to enhance healthcare quality and safety. They address various critical aspects such as leadership, service planning, communication, patient care, data protection, and emergency preparedness, thereby aiming to improve patient and family experiences.

The Sanadhum initiative is geared towards ensuring regulatory compliance and raising awareness among health facilities about the healthcare requirements for People of Determination. It includes adherence to the Dubai Universal Design Code and involves field inspections to verify facility readiness, fostering a safer and more accessible healthcare environment.

The Unified Medical Report standardizes medical references for diagnosing and assessing functional impacts of cases, enhancing the consistency and accuracy of medical assessments. Integrated with the NABIDH platform, it links with government systems to facilitate efficient service access for People of Determination.

Asma Al Sharif, CEO of the Health Regulatory Sector at DHA, underscored DHA's dedication to supporting People of Determination by aligning high-quality health services with global best practices. She highlighted that these initiatives are aimed at improving the readiness of healthcare facilities and streamlining procedures to enable faster access to services.
