Dubai Municipality Awards AED3 Billion Contracts for ‘Tasreef’ Programme Phase 3

Dubai:Dubai Municipality has awarded contracts valued at AED3 billion for four projects under Phase 3 of the 'Tasreef' Programme, aimed at advancing the emirate's stormwater drainage network. The projects will involve constructing and extending approximately 100 kilometres of main drainage lines, enhancing the network's resilience to meet future growth requirements.

According to Wam, the new projects will cover vital areas across Dubai, including Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Al Safa, and others, connecting them to the main stormwater drainage network. This development aims to boost the network's water-flow capacity and support sustainable urban growth.

The 'Tasreef' Programme is one of the UAE's largest strategic infrastructure projects, intended to increase stormwater drainage capacity by 700 percent and reduce related costs by 20 percent. It aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy, enhancing the city's infrastructure resilience and sustainability.

Eng. Eng. Adel Mohammed Al Marzouqi, CEO of the Waste and Sewerage Agency, highlighted the third phase's focus on reducing water accumulation and improving service quality.

The projects include significant developments in Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, and along Al Wasl Road, aimed at enhancing infrastructure readiness and accommodating urban growth. The initiative underscores Dubai's commitment to maintaining high standards of infrastructure and public services.
