Abu Dhabi:ROX has successfully delivered its first batch of 100 vehicles, marked with 'Made in the Emirates', as part of its UAE Signature Edition. This delivery supports the UAE's initiative to diversify its national industrial base and advance its manufacturing capabilities in high-value sectors.
According to Wam, the vehicles were produced at ROX's AI Manufacturing Centre located in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). This achievement is the result of a collaboration involving the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and ROX, aiming to localize manufacturing operations in Abu Dhabi and boost the UAE's automotive sector.
The project highlights the UAE's ability to attract international companies, leveraging advanced infrastructure, logistics services, technology, and supportive institutional partnerships. The partnership between ADIO and ROX aligns with the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy, which seeks to develop an integrated ecosystem across manufacturing, design, technology, and R&D.
MoIAT supports this industrial project under the Make it in the Emirates initiative, aligned with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology (Operation 300bn). This strategy aims to enhance national industrial resilience, competitiveness, and the adoption of advanced technology, increasing the industrial sector's contribution to the economy.
Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of MoIAT, emphasized the strategic value of the 'Made in the Emirates' mark, highlighting its role in attracting investment, localizing knowledge, and building partnerships to drive growth and competitiveness amidst global supply chain challenges.
Mohammad Ali Al Kamali, Chief Trade and Industry Officer at ADIO, remarked on ROX's journey as a reflection of how investment can lead to tangible industrial capabilities and global opportunities. The delivery of the vehicles indicates ROX's commitment to strengthening manufacturing operations and contributing to the localization of industrial activities.
ROX's CEO, Jarvis, described the delivery as a significant milestone in the company's commitment to Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The company has established advanced manufacturing, AI, and design capabilities to produce vehicles locally, with plans to expand these operations and strengthen supply chains.
The development of ROX's Abu Dhabi facility, which took six months, combines manufacturing, design, and AI capabilities. This supports the UAE's industrial ambitions and reflects the nation's ability to translate investment into domestic production, enhancing the integration of manufacturing, design, and technology sectors.
