Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. During the call, they addressed regional developments and condemned the attack on the Qatari tanker Al Rekayyat near the Strait of Hormuz, as well as ongoing Iranian aggression towards commercial vessels in the area.
According to Emirates News Agency, the leaders expressed their concern over these incidents, highlighting the threat they pose to international navigation and the stability of one of the world's crucial waterways. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE's unwavering support for Qatar, emphasizing that the security of Qatar is intrinsically linked to the security of the UAE and the broader Gulf region.
The discussion also covered initiatives to bolster regional security and stability, reflecting the shared commitment of the UAE and Qatar to safeguard the interests and safety of their citizens and residents.
