Abu Dhabi:Abu Dhabi Cycling Club (ADCC) has introduced 'Laffa,' a free community initiative designed to encourage beginners to take up cycling. The program aims to teach participants about safety, cycling etiquette, and sports nutrition in a supportive environment.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative operates under the slogan 'Ride Safe, Ride Smart' and is open to individuals of all ages and nationalities across Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra Region, and Al Ain, regardless of prior cycling experience.
The program will include a monthly cycling ride, alternating locations between Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra Region, and Al Ain. These rides will be beginner-friendly, featuring awareness sessions on cycling safety and sports nutrition, as well as prizes and giveaways for participants.
The first ride is planned for late October 2026 at the Madinat Zayed Cycling Track in Al Dhafra Region, with specific details to be announced later. The initiative seeks to increase community sports involvement and highlight Abu Dhabi's cycling infrastructure.
Participants will learn essential safety measures such as helmet use, hand signals, and group riding rules, along with practical advice on nutrition and hydration. Details about ride schedules, routes, and registration will be available on the ADCC's official website, with participation being free of charge.
