ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC 6) is set to commence at the Mubadala Arena on Friday, marking a significant moment for the martial arts community with its largest fight card to date. The event, which includes 15 duels featuring athletes from 10 countries, reflects the tournament's growth since its inception. According to Emirates News Agency, IVSM General Manager Tareq Al Bahri highlighted the support from leadership in establishing Abu Dhabi as a global sports hub. He emphasized that the championship embodies the UAE's vision to promote martial arts worldwide and noted the increasing international interest in the sport. This interest, he suggested, is pivotal to the championship's success over its six editions. Mohammed Al Hosani, the event's official fight organiser and a member of the organising committee, discussed the dynamic week leading up to ADXC 6. He described the changes and surprises that occurred as competitors vied for spots on the roster and as the committee worked to com pensate athletes unable to participate due to injuries or emergencies. Al Hosani remarked on the organising team's effectiveness in managing these challenges and confirmed that the next edition of the tournament will take place in Brazil in November. The event's athletes expressed excitement at the press conference. Jansen Gomes, a previous champion from the third edition in Brazil, conveyed confidence in his abilities for the upcoming match. Uanderson Ferreira, a prominent figure in the AJP circuit, shared that he has had a strong training camp and anticipates an intense fight, highlighting the submission-focused nature of the competition.
