Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace and the Vatican's Pontifical Academy for Life (PAV) have engaged in discussions to enhance their collaborative efforts in the realm of artificial intelligence ethics and human-centered technological advancement. These discussions align with the UAE's vision, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasizing that technological progress should ultimately serve human beings and contribute to sustainable development.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting involved Sheikh Al-Mahfoudh bin Bayyah, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, and Monsignor Renzo Pegoraro, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life. The dialogue underscored the importance of establishing global ethical frameworks for artificial intelligence to benefit humanity and protect human dignity. The two parties also assessed their current cooperation and explored new partnership opportunities in research, education, leadership development, and international dialogue.
Both organizations reviewed their ongoing collaboration in AI ethics, highlighting the Forum's role in organizing several pioneering international meetings. These include a high-level gathering at the Vatican, attended by the United Nations, leading global technology companies, and academic and religious institutions, focusing on the ethical dimensions of emerging technologies.
