ABU DHABI: The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has introduced the Data for Good (D4G) Framework, aiming to encourage data-driven innovation and enhance collaboration between public and private entities in the emirate. This move is expected to facilitate the use of real-time data to drive societal benefits and economic growth. According to Emirates News Agency, the D4G Framework was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Pavilion Majlis during GITEX, with input from both global and local partners. The framework underscores a commitment to secure, systematic partnerships that empower government and private sectors to leverage data for the public good. With a foundation in trust, innovation, and sustainability, the framework prioritizes secure data sharing while safeguarding privacy and competitive interests. The framework is structured to optimize data use in decision-making, public service enhancement, and sustainable economic development. It is supported by several key components including data stewardship, privacy and security, data ethics, and collaborative governance. These elements are designed to ensure responsible data sharing and alignment of stakeholders around shared objectives. Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Director General of SCAD, emphasized the transformative potential of the D4G Framework, stating that it builds trust and fosters collaboration between sectors to unlock data's full potential. This approach is intended to create actionable insights that benefit society and support Abu Dhabi's long-term sustainability goals. Developed with input from over 60 partners across public and private sectors, the framework aligns with global best practices while addressing Abu Dhabi's unique socio-economic needs. It aims to improve public services and decision-making by utilizing the substantial data generated daily, thereby supporting a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
