Abu Dhabi Partners with World Economic Forum to Revolutionize Global Health Systems Through AI and Digital Transformation

Abu Dhabi: The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has entered into a strategic partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to propel global health systems forward through digital transformation and artificial intelligence. At the 2025 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, a Letter of Intent was signed to collaborate under the WEF’s Digital Healthcare Transformation (DHT) Initiative, an ambitious project aimed at reinventing the global health ecosystem for enhanced outcomes, access, and efficiency. The signing was observed by H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture.



According to Emirates News Agency, the DHT initiative aims to leverage public-private partnerships to integrate digital technology, data, and AI into health systems worldwide. As part of this collaboration, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi will join the DHT Activator Network, contributing to meaningful changes in health systems on a global scale. Abu Dhabi’s involvement is expected to facilitate valuable knowledge exchange, aiding in the transition of global healthcare towards prediction and prevention through digital transformation.



The signing of the agreement was witnessed during the participation of the UAE delegation at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025. Key figures present included Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, B¸rge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum, and Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum. The agreement was formalized by Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and Alois Zwinggi, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum.



Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori highlighted the challenges faced by global health systems, such as outdated technology and fragmented data, and emphasized Abu Dhabi’s leadership in developing an intelligent health system. He noted that the initiative would allow the Department of Health to share its blueprint for comprehensive population health datasets and digital health infrastructure, showcasing practical use cases and clinical applications.



The Department of Health will also demonstrate how genomic innovations like the Emirati Genome Program and next-generation technologies can be harnessed to shift from reactive to proactive health systems, focused on healthy longevity. Additionally, it will explore tackling cardiometabolic diseases at the population level through systemic interventions and digital solutions in prevention and care.
