Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police and Space42, a UAE-based AI-driven SpaceTech company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop smart security and autonomous vehicle systems in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU aligns with the Government of Abu Dhabi’s goals to advance smart mobility and create a safe, sustainable transport ecosystem through advanced technologies. It also establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between the two entities in research, development, and innovation within the smart mobility sector.
The agreement was signed by Brigadier Mohammed Dhahi Al Hamiri, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, and Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42. Al Hamiri emphasized that the Abu Dhabi Police will enhance road safety and reduce traffic incidents by implementing AI and autonomous solutions in police vehicles. He noted that the partnership will also focus on upskilling local talent through joint training and field programs, aiming to broaden the initiative across Abu Dhabi’s transport ecosystem in line with the leadership’s vision for smart and safer cities.
Al Hosani commented on the collaboration, highlighting it as a significant step in applying AI and advanced technologies to address real-world security and mobility challenges. He stated that the partnership will develop intelligent solutions to strengthen the security framework for autonomous vehicles and improve safety standards across smart mobility systems.
