ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) is extending its support to camel owners and livestock breeders during the 18th Al Dhafra Festival by offering a range of veterinary services. The festival, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, began yesterday in Sweihan and will run until January 30, 2025, encompassing various locations including Razeen, Madinat Zayed, and the concluding event at Al Dhafra. According to Emirates News Agency, ADAFSA is facilitating the festival with logistical support and veterinary care, featuring a mobile veterinary clinic staffed with veterinarians and technicians. The clinic will conduct health assessments on camels participating in the festival to ensure they are free from diseases such as brucellosis. Additionally, ADAFSA will provide veterinary services to livestock farms and breeders, including laboratory tests, diagnostics, and necessary treatments. Participants will be able to access eight free veterinary services, which include trea tment, farm and livestock spraying, blood tests, surgery, and the dispensing of medicines. ADAFSA's veterinary experts will also be available to offer advice on effective farm management practices, covering areas such as herd health management, parasite control, and the proper nutrition of livestock using concentrated feeds. By participating in the Al Dhafra Festival, ADAFSA aims to reinforce its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting animal welfare within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
