ADJD Showcases Inmates’ Products at Al Dhafra Dates Festival 2026

Madinat Zayed:The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) is presenting an array of dates, handicrafts, and heritage products created by inmates from correctional and rehabilitation centres at the fifth Al Dhafra Dates Festival 2026. The festival is being held in Madinat Zayed, Al Dhafra Region, from 16th to 25th October.

According to Wam, the event, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, serves as a platform to showcase the ADJD's rehabilitation programs. These programs focus on enhancing inmates' skills in agriculture, vocational training, and artisanal crafts.

The Department's pavilion at the festival displays dates cultivated within the correctional facilities, along with various handicrafts and traditional products crafted by the inmates. This initiative highlights the practical training provided to inmates, fostering their skills, productivity, and sense of responsibility.

This participation underscores the ADJD's commitment to creating a supportive rehabilitative environment. The aim is to empower inmates to hone their skills and engage in productive activities, ultimately aiding their reintegration into society as constructive individuals after serving their sentences.

Moreover, the ADJD's involvement in the festival also aims to promote Emirati heritage while facilitating the exchange of expertise with other organizations involved in agriculture, production, and sustainability. This collaboration is intended to enhance the training and rehabilitation programs offered.
